Fiber Optic Project Inaugurates in Logar Province

H.E. Amirzai Sangin Minister of MCIT inaugurated Fiber Optic Project on Sunday, September 30, 2012 in Logar province.

Minister Sangin participates an opening ceremony along with Mr. M. Iqbal Azizi governor of Logar province, Parliament members; Senators, members of provincial council and a large number of tribe elders and local residents.
Speaking about the importance and development of telecommunication Sangin said a wide range of telecommunication services are facilitated as compared to other sectors in the country.  For the time being; more than 88% population of the country covered with telecommunication services and the remaining minor amount of percentage is due to lack of stable security and laid roads. Furthermore around two hundred thousand people work and compensate their families from the mentioned sector.

Minister Sangin added: a rapid & extensive work of 3G services is in progress. Many big cities are covered by 3G services. Logar is the first province in the South, that Fiber Optic project inaugurated in and 3G services will be facilitated in coming few weeks there.

Iqbal Azizi the governor of Logar appreciated the action of MCIT on behalf of residents.

To implement the 45 decree of president and expansion of telecommunication services;  Eng. Sangin visited Char Asyab & M. Agheh districts as well. At the same day Eng. Amirzai Sangin opened a Fiber Optic Project in Char Asyab district, which will link the district with Kabul.
