MCIT Signs 3G license Agreements with MTN
Now a day Communication & Information Technology has principle role for development of all aspects of human life.
We can say that all achievements in the world of science and technology depend to development of Communication & Information Technology.
To sign the agreement a media conference was held on Wednesday, 20th June, 2012 at Ministry of Communication & IT with the Participation of H.E. Eng. Amirzai Sangin Minster of Communication & IT, H.E. Dr. Hazrat Umer Zakhilwal Minister of Finance, H.E Abdul Hadi Argandiwal Minister of Economy along with high level government officials and representatives of media fraternity have officially singed by the chairman of ATRA Abdul Wakil Shirgul and MTN Afghanistan CEO,Mr.Hassan Jaber.
Minister Sangin mentioned: we have issued the first 3G license to Etisalat Company on 18th March 2012 in value of 25$ million, to provide the better and high speed internet services to our people we are issuing the second 3G license to MTN company in value of 25$ million, we are intended to increase the internet users up to 50% of population in next two years.
Minister of Communication & IT Amirzai Sangin Said: “implementing of this advance technology provides great facilities for the residents of the country. 3G technology facilitates fast internet services, image, and video and voice communication for the telecommunications’ subscribers”.
Amirzai Sangin added:” 3G technologies is a key factor for growth of economic and rapid development of our country in different sectors like economics, education, health commerce and other sectors conductive to our life. We are introducing 3G services aimed at improving people’s lives by enhanced speed and connectivity”.
He added that all current domestic telecommunications companies are also interested to provide 3G services to their telephone subscribers; in recent future we will be able to sign issuance of 3G licenses to the rest of GSM companies as well. In the result, there will be $100 million increase into the government treasure including Etisalat and MTN.
Finally CEO of MTN promise that in next 20 days the 3G services will be practically in use of MTN customers.
Finally, the representative of MTN handed over a bank check of $25 million to the Minister of Finance.
