MCIT-Connects professional Institutes with ICT with ICT
According to electronic government strategy Ministry of Communications & Information Technology (MCIT) opened the project connecting six educational institutes in Kabul city with Fiber Optic and equipped the laboratories with computers and other required instrument at a joint press conference with Ministry of Education under the title of ICT-in Education.
The meeting was attended by both Amirzai Sangin and Farooq Wardak acting Ministers of MCIT & MoE, professors, teachers, students and mass media representatives.
At the beginning Minister Amirzai Sangin welcomed the participants of the gathering and briefed them about the goals and objectives of MCIT in Afghanistan. He said that: the use of information technology in all areas of life such as health, education, economy, security, governance, etc. is of a great value. He added: as we have seen information technology has made tangible impact on education in developed countries. He continued that information technology provides vast opportunities to teachers and students to achieve abilities in their teaching and learning areas and operate new and modern methods of learning. Thus using information technology bring transparency, quality, speed in all areas of governance and social life.
H. E. Amirzai Sangin said: according to the signed agreement between MCIT and MoE we take the first step to its implementation. Today in the first step we have made it possible six professional schools be connected to internet and their laboratories are equipped with required instruments.
Then Dr. Farooq Wardak acting Minister of MoE expressing his happiness and called the information technology as a strategic weapon. He added using the information technology we will put our all teaching curriculums in software and distribute it to schools across the country with high quality.
He said that: by connecting schools with Optical Fiber connect every class and student to the world and provide them facilities to have access to critical information regarding materials and lessons.
Dr. Wardak said: in compression to the region the growth of information technology is unprecedented in the country and emphasized for its positive utilization.
He also expressed appreciation for the efforts of MCIT and said that MCIT’s unwearyingly efforts turned Afghanistan regional rival.
It is worth noting that in the first phase six (Kabul mechanical Institute, professional teaching training institute, Sayed Jamludin teacher training , Institute of Information technology, High School for Blind and Jamhoriat Professional Institute) Professional Institutes are connected and 250 other schools will be connected in soon future.
