Minister of Communications and Information Technology participates at the railway opening ceremony

Minister of Communications and Information Technology Shazad Aryobee following instruction of the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan H.E. Mohammad Ashraf Ghani participated in the opening ceremony of the railway line between Afghanistan and Turkmenistan on behalf of the country on Thursday, February 23, 2018.

At the ceremony, the Minister of Railways Transport of Turkmenistan also participated as the representative of his country.

This line, which covers 13 kilometers, extends from Turkmenistan through the Torghondi Port in Herat to the country is used for commercial purposes (export and import of property) and is an example which would enjoy much importance to Afghan merchants.

At the ceremony, the people of both countries participated and expressed their satisfaction with national dance and happiness.
