MCIT launches Capacity Building and Job Placement Opportunities in the Country

MCIT signed a contract of six short term training programs for building the Capacity of the Private and the Public Sector in the Country, with focus on Job-oriented training in the ICT Sector with Rana, Karwan and ApTech Educational Institutes during a press conference held on Sunday March 9, 2014 at MCIT’s Conference hall.
The event was attended by Deputy (Technical) Minister of MCIT Eng. Baryalay Hassam, in charges of three mentioned Educational Institutes, leadership body of MCIT and mass media representatives.
At the beginning Eng. Baryalay Hassam briefly spoke about the achievements and objectives of MCIT and said: MCIT aims to expand broadband connectivity, mainstream use of mobile applications across the Government and develop the capacity of IT Sector to facilitate improved service delivery across Afghanistan while accelerating job creation and economic growth.
He mentioned that: according this contract these IT Skills Development Courses include 6 Specialization Streams like: Systems Administration; Networking and Cyber Security; Microsoft Technologies; Data Base Administration; Web Designing/Web Development and Software Development.

He also explained that: Through the selection process The following Institutes have now been selected to impart Specialization Training in IT fields, to be held in 2014 – 2015 : -

  1. Rana Institute of Higher Studies, Kabul: To train 350 IT Professionals during next 16 months at a Cost of 400,000 USD plus applicable Tax;
  2. Higher Education Institute of Karwan, Kabul: To train 350 IT Professionals during next 16 months at a Cost of 400,000 USD plus applicable Tax;
  3. Aptech Limited – India: To train 350 IT Professionals during next 16 months at a Cost of 400,000 USD plus applicable Tax.

It is mentionable that MCIT conducted this process in 2012 and the following Institutes were selected for the IT Training in 2012-2013:

  1. Kardan Institute of Higher Education (KIHE) – Afghanistan: Trained 150 Students till May, 2013; 85 % Students were IT Professionals from the Private Sector of the Country;
  2. InfoTech Global Private Limited (InfoTech) – Singapore: Trained 150 Students till May, 2013; 85 % Students were IT Professionals from the Private Sector of the Country;
  3. RANA Technologies Enterprises (RTE) – Afghanistan: Trained 150 Students till May, 2013. 85 % Students were IT Professionals from the Private Sector of the Country.
