Minister Sangin Addresses to Dunia University about Recent Achievements of Telecommunications
Minister of Communications and Information Technology H. E. Amirzai Sangin visited Dunia University at invitation of the University officials; and attended the meeting, which was organized by the authorities of the University.
Dunia is one of private University functioning in Kabul; according its program Directorate of the University invites members of Cabinet for presentations regarding concerning subjects.
At the beginning Mr. Qadir Mirzaee welcomed the guest and read the brief biography of Amirzai Sangin; and then asked him to present his presentation.
Then minister of MCIT H.E Amirzai Sangin presented detailed description around the performance and achievements of MCIT in the field of Communication and IT during the last decade in Afghanistan, H. E. Sangin also informed the audience about MCIT’S programs and plans for the next three years as follows:
- To deliver the Telecom and IT services to rural villages through country
- To supply high speed internet for the people in Afghanistan
- To provide technical assistance to the Ministry of Interior (MoI) on the successful implementation of National Identity Card (NID) project
- To extend the Fiber Optic network to the areas which are not covered
- To build and place the first Telecommunication Satellite in the orbit
- To replace the existing analogue Television (TV) with digital TV in the country and tight the regulations for the TV operating companies
- To enhance the capacity of the Afghan government by introducing the concept of e-Government and encourage all the ministries to integrate ICT within their main work
At the end minister Sangin responded to questions of students and professors of the University
