The goals and mandate set for MCIT for the upcoming 5 years are:

·        To provide guidance and strategic direction on access to public information, postal service, telecommunication, information and communication technology and digital media;

·        To transform the existing manual, time-consuming and costly government procedures into more efficient electronic processes;

·        To facilitate the private sector development and attraction through provision of required government based services and support for ensuring their inclusion in digital economy;  

·        Facilitate digital connectivity, Internet and cost-effective access to information and communications infrastructure and services throughout the country; 

·        Promote the utilization of ICT as a cross-cutting issue in all sectors, to enhance the accelerated socio-economic growth and development through dissemination of public information and provision of innovative information and communication technologies;

·        Formulate and implement policies of postal public services, electronic public services, and information technology and communication technology;

·        To guide, deliver and supervise the information services, new technology, communication and postal services to Government ministries and departments, both locally and externally;

·        Facilitate and reduce the administrative burdens to attract investments, both domestic and foreign and promote the creation of jobs;

Job Summary:

The Graphic Designer will work under direct supervision of the Afghan Post Director and report on his activities/accomplishment directly to the director, projects coordinator and minister office; He/she will perform the following duties but not limited to:

·        Design and produce promotional materials such as Billboard, Banner, Brochure, Flyer, Leaflet, Newsletter, Success Story, publicity hand out, direct mail for the Afghan Post and ministry;

·        Design and produce standard official reports, professional video clips and other promotion materials;

·        Prepare and produce short video clips scenarios and audio/ video documentaries;

·        Professional photography, filming, videos and editing of the photos and videos;

·        Expert with developing and creating commercial brand type and its practical ways in the market;

·        Familiar with taking professional photographs and getting acquainted with photo editing software’s;

·        Manage and update photo and video database. Manage all stages of the design and production process, working with external printers and/or adv. Agencies;

·        Develop, Maintaining and updating information on the organization website and Co-ordinate content;

·        Generation for the website with the fundraising and programs teams e.g. newsletters, Success Stories, Updated video documentaries, new release etc.

·        Manage and optimize SEO activities for the website and track web traffic against targets using Google Analytics.

·        Helping to ensure social media channels such as Facebook Pages, YouTube Channel and Twitter,

·        Remain engaging and active, including occasionally live tweeting from events and monitoring, assist in coordinating communication activities and events;

·        Assist in conducting awareness raising campaigns, events, information dissemination workshops, etc. for target groups.

·        Assisting with any other aspects of the Society’s media work and provide support to Marketing Head and Marketing team;

·        Maintain close relation with the Minister Office and provide quick support to the management requests/ instructions;

Any other duties assigned by the management.

Skills Description:

Education:

  • University degree in graphic design, computer sciences or any other relevant field.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years relevant professional experience is required with government or international agencies.

 

Skills & Competencies:

  • Excellent in graphic design software’s, especially with Adobe illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premier and other photo-editing software.
  • Excellent in web designing software’s and familiar with PHP, HTML and can work with word press, Microsoft Web expression.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, Dari, and Pashto.
  • Ability to generate creative multimedia contents;
  • Familiarity with services offered by Posts would be an advantage;
  • Ability to manage multi-stakeholder projects, Good interpersonal and presentation skills.

Language Requirements:

Fluency in English, and proficiency in Pashto and Dari.
