Minister of Communications and Information Technology meets Director Transport and ICT Global Practice of the World Bank

Minister of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT)  Shahzad Aryobee met with the Country Director of Transport & ICT Global Practice of the World Bank Mr. Franz Drees-Gross, and Country Director of the World Bank for Afghanistan and South Asia Shubham Chaudhuri, at his office on Saturday, April 7, 2018.

The meeting focused on the overall state of the telecommunications and information technology sector, in particular the Casa Digital Project, which was discussed in detail.

Minister Aryobee thanked them for approving the Casa Digital Project.

The project comprises of four sections:

Creating infrastructure for Local and Regional connectivity, 2. Electronic Governance, 3. Preparing appropriate environment for private investment, upgrading digital skills, creating job opportunities and boosting innovations, 4. Strengthening departments and project management with a budget of $ 51m and will be completed in the next five years.
