Beginning pilot distribution process of electronic driving license

Mohammed Fahim Hashemi acting Minister of Communications and Information Technology inaugurated pilot distribution of e-driving licenses on Saturday, August 31, 2019.
Mr. Yama Yari acting Minister of Transport, Dr. Hadi Hedayati deputy (Admin &Finance) minister of Communications and Information Technology, Mr. mohammad Dauwood Chakari Director General of Road Traffic also participated the event .
At the ceremony, Mohammad Fahim Hashimi described the beginning of the process as a historic step, saying that after distributing the electronic National Id, the distribution of smart driving licenses is the ministry's second major program in the field of e-government.
According to him, making electronic of driving licenses can prevent widespread corruption and using it will greatly contribute to promotion of electronic governance.
Hashimi expressed hope that other government departments would also take similar steps to ensure that the Hajj Cards and people’s visas will be electronic.
Subsequently,Acting Transport Minister Mr. Yama Yari said at the ceremony that the Ministry of Transport has tried in all its capacity to make the driving license electronic and despite the challenges the process is going well.
At the event, Muhammad Fahim Hashimi and Mr. Yayari have symbolically registered their specifications for obtaining electronic driving licenses.
It is noteworthy that Kabul Central Printing press is responsible for printing electronic driving licenses.
