Minister of Communications and Information Technology meets with Kazakhstan's Charge d'Affaires in Kabul

The Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Mr. Alhaj Mawlawi Najibullah Hayat Haqqani, met with the Charge d'Affaires of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Kabul Mr. Gaziz Akabasof and discussed digital governance, technology, and other related aspects of the technology and communications sector.

Welcoming the Charge d'Affaires of Kazakhstan and his delegation, The Minister of Communications and Information Technology, stated that Kabul and Astana have ancient relations and, while preserving our national interests, we seek good relations with neighboring and regional countries.

The Minister of Communications and Information Technology expressed that Afghanistan was a country involved in wars for 40 years and is currently in a state of growth and stability. Taking this opportunity, we would like to establish bilateral cooperation to make effective progress in the development of the country, especially in the field of technology.

In this meeting, the Minister mentioned that we have skilled cadres in the technology sector within the framework of MCIT and throughout the country, and we are capable of making good progress in the technology sector by using the experiences of partner countries.

Kazakhstan's Chargé d'Affaires in Kabul, described Afghanistan as an important country for Asia, saying that the stability of Afghanistan is the stability of all Asian countries, he said, due to its unique geographical location, Afghanistan can connect Asian countries in an economic corridor and cooperate in development.

Mr. Gaziz Akabasof expressed that Kazakhstan is committed to cooperating with Afghanistan in technology development and growth and is sharing its experiences in the technology sector with Afghan cadres.

He also added that they are committed to continuing to cooperate in building the capacity of Afghan technical cadres in technology, system development, and digital governance.

Also during this meeting, the Deputy Technical Minister of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Ahmad Masood Latif Rai, shared information with the Kazakh side about the important technological aspects of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology that the ministry intends to implement.

Also, a technical team was appointed from the representatives of both sides in order to follow up on the abovementioned issues and exchange views on the results.
