Salaam Telecom: ten times growth in internet capacity

Wednesday, June 19, 2019, Mohammad Fahim Hashimi acting minister of Communications and Information Technology visited the change process for increasing the capacity of the Salaam Telecommunication Network.
During his visit minister of MCIT directed the relevant authorities to extend the Salaam Telecom Network services and to increase its capacity by utilizing new technologies.
Afghan Telecom Technical officials have been working on replacing the new system for several days and have heightened the capacity of the system by tenfold and are currently ready to provide better service to the people.
For further development of the services, Minister Hashimi directed the officials to take necessary steps for speeding up the procurement process of 500 new sites of Salaam Network.
The Salaam Network, which was originally designed for a million customers, currently has 2.4 million active subscribers and the network's capacity should be upgraded to 6.1 million subscribers to be ready for new practical plans.
It should be noted that due to the increasing number of customers, the quality of service has dropped, but it is expected after the purchase of new equipment, BTSs and new sites this problem will also be addressed in the near future.
