A high- level Pakistani delegation led by National Security Adviser Dr. Moeed Yusuf meets with the Minister and leadership of the ministry of Communications and IT

At the meeting, the two sides discussed the matters of information technology, bilateral relations, and cooperation.

During the meeting the Minister of Communications and Information Technology said that in recent years no country has helped Afghanistan to finance and build infrastructure projects, the international community and our neighbors must work together to help Afghanistan to build infrastructures

The minister of MCIT also said that if Pakistan was ready to connect the fiber optic cable, it would be beneficial for both countries. In terms of internet transit, Pakistan can transit to Europe through this route, and it will connect South Asian countries including Pakistan to Central Asia.

Minister Najibullah Haqani called on the delegation to prevent the disruption of frequencies in Afghanistan so that Afghanistan can properly manage its frequencies and collect revenues.

Najibullah Haqani urges the Pakistani delegation to lease fiber optics to Afghanistan to provide quality internet services in Afghanistan so Afghanistan can access submarine cable, with access to a submarine cable, Afghanistan will be able to connect to the international Internet, reduce prices and improve service quality.

He highlighted that although Pakistan has access to submarine cables, it sells the Internet to Afghanistan at a higher price than Central Asia.

If Pakistan drops the prices, we can get internet from Pakistan and other countries as well, but if the rates are high, we have to get inexpensive internet services from other countries.

Likewise, there was talk of facilitating the transfer of postal services through Pakistan.

At the meeting, the Pakistani side assured that the Prime Minister of Pakistan had said that Pakistan could help Afghanistan in technology, capacity building, hearing complaints, and other areas.

The Minister of MCIT, in response to the Pakistani side, said that after reviewing the relevant proposals, a decision will be made on how useful they are.

At the end of the meeting, a decision was made a joint technical team would discuss related issues in the future.
