Afghan High Level Delegation Meet with the Secretary General of the International Telecommunication Union

Afghan High Level Delegation headed by H. E. Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, Chief Executive of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan met with Mr. Houlin Zhao, the Secretary General of the International Telecommunication Union, at his residence on Monday, October 20, 2018.
H. E. Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, chief executive of the country expressed his gratitude and thanked the Secretary General for successful conducting the conference of the International Telecommunication Union and called on member countries to invest in the telecommunication sector in.
The Chief Executive of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan added that for the time being there are six telecommunications networks are operating in Afghanistan and expressed that there are a good foundation for investment in the Information Technology has been provided in the country..
During the meeting, Afghan delegation had detailed discussion on different project including the Fiber Optic Projects, Wakhan Corridor with China, Casa de Digital, the promotion of women in the field of ICT and the cooperation of the developed countries in IT sector.
The ITU General Secretary thanked the Government of Afghanistan for supporting and contributing to growth of the technology in the country and the access of citizens to the telecommunication sector.
