Acting Minister of Communications and Information Technology visits Herat province

Mohammad Fahim Hashimi acting minister of Communications and Information Technology arrived in Herat province on Tuesday, August 27, 2019.

During a meeting with Mr. Qayoum Rahimi the Governor of Herat province, minister Hashimi emphasized on investment in the telecommunications and information technology sector in Herat province, saying that Herat's people and investors can play an important role in this sector.

Investment in technology could provide more opportunities for residents of the province. He said.

He added that MCIT has set new plans to expand the use of cheap and high-speed internet throughout Afghanistan.

Mohammad Fahim Hashemi stressed that securing telecommunications sites, especially private companies, across the country is one of the issues that local authorities should consider.

While welcoming the minister of MCIT and his delegation the governor of Herat province pledged that the provincial authorities would cooperate extensively in the development of the ICT sector and in securing telecommunications sites, especially the private companies.
