Engineering Consultancy Services for Modernization and Digitization of the Existing Lift Systems of MCIT

Background:
The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), Islamic Republic of Afghanistan has received financing from the Ministry of Finance under the Core Development Budget(Budget Head AFG-1340007) towards construction, operation and maintenance of the Buildings and now intends to apply part of the proceeds to hire a qualified Engineering Consultant to provide Consultancy Services for Modernization and Digitization of the Existing Lift Systems of MCIT’s Main Building and Afghan Telecom Building at Mohammad Jan Khan Watt, Kabul. This Consultancy Support will be provided to the Director of Procurement Department of MCIT at Kabul, Afghanistan.
The existing Main Building of MCIT has 18 Floors which are serviced by 05 old Lifts, having Analog Systems for Operations, Monitoring and Control. Four Lift Systems are of 750 Kgs Capacity each and one Lift System is of 1,000 Kgs Capacity.
Afghan Telecom (AT) Offices are in an Annex of MCIT’s Main Building. Afghan Telecom Office Building has 05 Floors, serviced by a Lift System having 1250 Kgs Capacity.
All the 06 Lift Systems (05 in MCIT’s Main Building+01 in Afghan Telecom Building) have got aged out and further maintenance of these Systems is no more cost effective. Thus, MCIT has planned to modernize and digitize all the 06 Lift Systems by utilizing the latest Digital Technologies for such Electrical Power Based Lift Systems.
