Regional Open Source Conference- Central Asia 2011

 The first international free open source software (FOSS) conference held at ICTI ,Afghanistan with the participation of His Excellency Eng Amir Zai Sangin Minister of communication & IT of I.R of Afghanistan ,Ashraf Gani Ahmadzai director of transition process ,representatives of Iran, Pakistan ,Tajikistan, Canada, Nepal ,India , some Government and foreign officials , media representative ,Teachers and students from different institute .

At the beginning of conference Mr. Ashraf Gani Ahmadzai director of Transition Process” talk about the importance of (FOSS) to hold such conferences is useful and upgrade the capacity of young generation “

latter Eng Amir Zai Sangin Minister of (MCIT) “welcomed the guests and talked about the FOSS comprehensive information has presented to the audience and added: I am very happy that MCIT as  much developed in telecommunication which we can organize and hold  such kind of conference’s by ourselves  and this is another step toward the telecommunication development in Afghanistan , our main goal is to launch such kind of  conferences for people to get families with (FOSS) which is a great  source of information and we don’t need for copy rights ,FOSS is a collection of software which  use in computer and anyone can use it free .

We hope that one day Afghanistan will be the big software exporter in the world this will also improve our economy “

During the conference Mr. Adward sharuk UNISCO Representative, Noorullah Delawari director of (AISA), Jamal Nasir Norozi directore of ISP and representatives of Iran, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Canada, Nepal and India present their presentation one another after about the FOSS and the conference lasts 4 days.
