Participation of H.E Eng Amirzai Sangin in the World Conference of Turkmen TEL in Eshqabad City of Turkmenistan

H.E Eng. Amirzai Sangin, Minister of Communications and IT of I.R of Afghanistan attended the 4thTurkmen TEL International Conference in Eshqabad Turkmenistan from 12-18 September 2010.

The celebration was hosted and opened by deputy president of telecommunication, cabinet members and head of parliament of Turkmenistan. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Ministers of Communications of Turkmenistan, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, and deputy Minister of Communications of Azerbaijan as well as Ambassadors who have Embassies in Turkmenistan including Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Pakistan and others.
After the opening ceremony, the participants visited the show of Telecommunication companies and then the conference was officially started.
At first Minister of Communications of Turkmenistan thanked the participants and gave information regarding progress of telecommunications services in Turkmenistan. Afterwards, Ministers of Communications and IT of Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia and deputy Minister of Communications of Azerbaijan talked regarding developments of telecommunications in their countries.
H.E Eng. Amirzai Sangin delivered his speech regarding considerable developments which took place in recent years in Afghanistan which was well received by all participants.
In this conference, dialogue was undertaken with Turkmenistan regarding extension of optical fibber cable (OFC) and other issues. Optical fibber is extended till Imam Nazar boarder in the direction of Akina boarder and till the end of 2010 in the direction of Muri boarder in extension of Torghondi port, the cable will be completed “Said Minister of Communications of Turkmenistan”.
Its worth to mention that in Afghanistan the OFC has extended till Toor-Ghondi port since one year and will be started in the direction of Akina port very soon. Likewise, decision was made on the ways of use of Communication services through OFC between Afghanistan and Turkmenistan and Turkmenistan’s side has promised to extend cooperation in this regards. In addition minister of Communications of Turkmenistan expressed his desire regarding broadcasting of five Turkmenistan TV networks for Turkmen residents in Afghanistan through installing of antennas, Eng.Amirzai Sangin responded in this regard and said that this issue is related to Ministry of information and culture of I.R of Afghanistan and this issue should be referred to Ministry of foreign affairs and embassy of Afghanistan for taking actions.
At the end of conference other participants talked regarding communication services and products of their respective countries and the representative of Afghan Telecom gave information regarding developments of Communication services and proposed that we are expecting that Turkmenistan OFC is connecting with the OFC of Afghan telecom company through Turkman Tel on both borders.
