Minister of Communications and Information Technology meets with officials of Afghan Wireless and MTN Telecom Companies

Shahzad Aryobee Minister of Communications and Information Technology, while Mr Sailab Amiri the deputy director of the ATRA was present met with officials of the Afghan Wireless and MTN Telecom Companies on Tuesday, March 26, 2019.
In this meeting they discussed the sale of unregistered SIM cards and the complaints of the people.
Shahzad Aryobee seriously stressed that the sale of non-registered SIM cards is not acceptable for any reason and the distribution of SIM cards must be in accordance with the ATRA procedure.
In the event of continuing of unlawfully sale of SIM cards, the companies will be fined, and their operational licenses will be canceled by the ATRA office.
The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has also directed all the provincial directorates of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to collect all non-authorized SIM cards in cooperation with the ATRA and the security agencies, if any employee of the Ministry neglects this, will be dismissed from duties.
Shahzad Aryobee also urged the Ministry of Interior Affairs to advise the security officials to cooperating the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the ATRA in preventing illegal SIM cards in the Capital and provinces.
