Background:
The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), Islamic Republic of Afghanistan has received financing from the World Bank towards the cost of the ICT Sector Development Project (ICTDP) and intends to apply part of the proceeds for these consulting services.
The Consultancy Services (“the Services”) to be provided to MCIT by a qualified Firm include “To conduct Surveys and preparation of Bidding Documents for new OFC Routes to connect additional Provinces and Districts of Afghanistan”, under overall directions of Deputy Minister-Technical of MCIT, at Kabul-Afghanistan.
Objectives of the Consultancy Assignment:
Ministry of Communications and IT (MCIT) of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan seeks to appoint a qualified Firm to conduct Surveys and to prepare the Designs and the Bidding Documents for new OFC Routes to connect additional Provinces and Districts of Afghanistan.
The objective of the Firm should be to carry out detailed Surveys of new Optical Fiber Cable (OFC) Routes as specified by MCIT and to provide a comprehensive design document for all the given OFC Routes.
This is a challenging task considering Geographical conditions of Afghanistan that can be accomplished through a positive approach and technical expertise of a qualified firm with prior experience in carrying out such assignments.
