Modernization of Afghanistan’s Postal Services

Deputy Minister (Adm& Fin) WAhabbudin Sadaat met with Mr. Ertugrul Taner and Mr. Stephan Neuner official delegation from Germany in his office and discussed the issue of modernization Postal Services in Afghanistan.

At this meeting, which was attended by Chairman of Afghan Post Mr. Ahmad Wahid Wais, Chairman of APRA Mr. Mir Abdurahman Sadri, Director of Plan and Policy,Mr. Sadaat discussed the issue of modernization of Postal service, providing financial services through the Post and development Postal service in the country.

The topics that were discussed between the parties are as follows:

Discussion on agreement already signed between Afghanistan and Germany in 2012; and a decision was made based on Article 3 and 5 economic Assistance of the Agreement will be dedicated to development of Post services. 

Modernization of Postal services and APRA.

Modernization of e- shopping and e- Finance.

Extending Post stations according the bill of UPU existing of at least one post for 10000 people.

 Mr. Taner promised comprehensive cooperation of Germany and its embassy in Kabul in the field of Postal services.

Discussion about the two consultants for Afghan Post and APRA.

Workshops to be launched for obtaining information about current services of Post and APRA.

It is important to note that this meeting is sequel the previous meeting, which was held in Berlin in Germany.
