Minister of Communications and IT, Amirzai Sangin Visits Bamyan Province

Minister of Communications and IT (MCIT) H.E. Amirzai Sangin heading a delegation officially visited Bamyan Province. The companion panel consisted of Deputy Minister - Technical Eng.  Baryalai Hassam, Director of Afghan Telecom, Mr. Gul Ahmad Rastman, representative of Bamyan Province in Parliament Mr. Fakory Baheshti, Governor of Bamyan, Mrs. Habiba Surabi and Mr. Ramish, Deputy of GHCC Construction Company.

The aim of the visit was to inaugurate laying of Optic Fiber Cable (OFC) project of Bamyan, Daikundi and Ghor provinces and to supervise the quality of delivering communication services.

The delegation was warmly welcomed by the people and government officials of the province, provincial council, social and civil activists and local staff of Afghan Telecom. Then H.E.  Sangin and his panel participated the meeting, which was organized for inaugurating the project. After reciting few verses of the Holly Quran. The Governor,  Mrs. Habiba welcomed the guests and said this visit is of great value for the people of the provinces, and asked the Minister to highlight the importance and specifics of communications services particularly about the role of  OFC.

After, H.E. Amirzai Sangin expressed his pleasure to visit the beautiful province and great people of the Bamyan and thanked them for the warm welcome they give; he offered the greetings and respect of H. E. Hamid Karzai, President of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and Cabinet first.

Afterward minister Sangin briefed the achievements of MCIT in Telecommunication and IT sector during last decade. He said that during the last decade telecommunication and information technology played great and significant role and positive impact on development of the country in various (cultural, social-economic, telecommunication and technology) fields. He mentioned the achievements in development of mobile telephone, preparation and technical support of electronic ID Cards, converting analog system of TV into digital system and expansion of Optic Fiber Cable all around the country. He stressed that efforts and struggle continues to offer and deliver for better services.

The representative of Afghan Parliament, Mr. Abdul Rahman Shahidani appreciated the services and efforts of MCIT, particularly the role of Amirzai Sangin, furthermore, he mentioned the problems, which residents of these provinces face pertaining to telecommunication and information technology.

Then deputy of provincial council Mr. Mohammad Shafaque also thanked the MCIT in his turn and said that the telecommunication and IT Department in Bamyan province has always tried to make development plans with coordination other institutions, which have positive results.

Later H. E. Sangin paid satisfactory answers to the questions and demands from the people.

At the end minister and delegation visited the historical places and monuments of Bamyan province.
