MCIT starts pilot distribution of Electronic National ID Cards

Distribution process of the electronic National Identity Card was initiated by acting minister of Communications and Information Technology Shahzad Aryobee, with the presence of Leadership body of MCIT, the deputy of the population Registration Office Mr. Wais Payab, chairman of the GTR Company and mass media, On Saturday, December 2, 2017.

At the beginning, acting minister of Communications and Information Technology, announced the beginning of the model process of the distribution of e- NID as one of the major achievements of the Ministry.

 

Minister Aryobee said: Fortunately, after a lot of challenges, we with the cooperation of the GTR and the population Registration Department succeeded in launching this pilot process that, with the onset of which we will step up toward e-government, resolving problems of the population and avoiding corruption.

Currently, there are five active centers in Kabul including the districts of (Ahmad Shah Baba maina, Kart-e-Char, Dasht-e-Baruchi, Kheyrkhana and Shashdarak) ready to distribute electronic NID.

It is noteworthy that the distribution of E-NID may take up to 3 to 5 years.
