MCIT officially inaugurates Digital phone Projects of Ahmad Shahbaba and Umaide Sabz Maina
Ahmad Shahbaba Maina and Umaid Sabz digital phone stations, which have the capacity of 24000 lines (19000 line of Ahmad Shahbaba Maina and 5000 lines of Umaide Sabz) were inaugurated by Minister of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) H.E. Amirzai Sangin on Wednesday 24th May, 2014.
The meeting, which was held on this occasion was attended by leadership of MCIT, local dignitary and people and representatives of mass media.
Thanking the comprehensive cooperation of residents of the area H. E. Amirzai Sangin said: today I’m pleased to take another step toward the development of our country, this stations totally cover 11000 square km area of the localities; and mentioned according to contract work of these two projects will be completed within two years.
Eng. Sangin mentioned that the cost of the projects amounts 12.5 million US dollars, which is invested by Afghan Telecom Company and are implemented under control of MCIT.
And also H. E. Amirzai Sangin stated that: Besides rapid and cheaper phone connectivity the projects will provide data transfer, internet dial up and DSL facilities and it will cause increase in the income of our country.
After that Dr. Stanekzai expressed his satisfaction and happiness and thanked MCIT and behalf of the people’s provincial council promised any cooperation in implementation of the projects.
