Following the series of simplifying and electronization public service processes and to make driving and traffic management better and safer for everyone the Asan Khedmat Department of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology is now working with the Traffic Department of Ministry of Interior Affairs to create a system for registering vehicle (traffic licenses).

The new system will enable vehicle owners and drivers to receive their licenses with internationally accepted standards easily and, on the other hand, it plays the key role in controlling and overall regulation of the traffic system.

In addition, one of the benefits of this system is to equip roads with smart cameras capable of reading the number plates of vehicles and can effortlessly monitor the vehicles.

For the purpose to discuss the legal and technical aspects of the system, Asan Khedmat department of MCIT held a meeting with general director and technical team of the Interior Ministry's traffic directorate, representatives of the GTR, Afghan National Insurance, Communications and Information Technology Department of MCIT, and the Kabul Municipality.

The GTR Company is responsible for establishing the system and will be operational in the near future.
