Afghan Telecom Corporation was established in April 2006 by Ministry of Communication and Information Technology - MCIT, Government of Afghanistan to provide unified telecommunications services. Afghan Telecom Corporation aims to provide superior connectivity solutions to the people of Afghanistan. Depending on our Customer’s needs, some can choose from Digital Fixed Lines, CDMA Mobile Phones, EPABX, Wireless, DSL and Dial-up Internet Services, WiMax and Microwave solutions, Pay Phone services (in Herat and Kabul) and Optical Fiber Cable available to large national and international carriers. Today, Afghan Telecom has coverage in more than 200 cities, towns and districts of Afghanistan which gives it the largest Network coverage.
Afghan Telecom (Aftel) has made the communication possible through the District and Village Communications Network DCN/VCN, VSAT, CDMA and Digital Fixed Lines infrastructures. Afghan Telecom provides Domestic Private Leased Circuit (DPLC) and International Private Leased Circuit (IPLC) through Optical Fiber Cable (OFC) with a national OFC backbone ring network covering 3100 Km. Afghan Telecom OFC is implemented and extended throughout Afghanistan and connected to any part of the world through its international connectivity via Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Iran and Pakistan.
