The draft law for electronic transactions and signatures was approved by the Law Committee
The meeting of the Cabinet Law Committee, held under the chairmanship of Professor Sarwar Danesh, the second vice president, approved the draft law on electronic transactions and signature son Sunday August 17, 2020.
After about 15 years of discussion and changes and additions to its content the draft Law is now ready for approval for the first time in the country and because of development of technology as well as the transformation of the form and type of transactions and communications this law is an urgent need of the society and will provide many facilities in the field of electronic transactions.
Mohammad Fahim Hashimi Minister of Information Technology, Communications and Science, detailed the members about the importance, necessity and purpose of this law and called it a suitable platform for providing e-government and systematization in government offices.
The members of the meeting discussed in detail and exchanged views over electronic transactions and the legal aspects and technical parts of the law.
This law has been prepared in order to provide the basis for creating a legal framework for electronic transactions and signatures, accreditation and providing better ground for the expansion of electronic transactions and communications.
The Vice President also called the law important and instructed the Ministry of Justice to prepare the comments and suggestions mentioned in the text of the draft in a technical meeting in the presence of the Ministry of Information Technology, Communications and Science, the National Statistics Administration and the (ATRA) Office and submit it to the Cabinet for processes and steps.
