Ban on Fake and Low-Quality Mobile Phone Imports

According to the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology's decision, companies importing mobile phones are required to obtain an import license from the Afghanistan Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (ATRA) before importing mobile sets into the country.
The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, In addition to regulating telecommunication services, is also responsible for the development and advancement of technology in the country.
In line with modern-day demands, to address the needs of citizens and streamline working processes, the MCIT has created and implemented numerous essential information systems.
These systems are designed to enhance efficiency and record the unique IMEI numbers of all mobile devices, aiming to prevent the entry of counterfeit phones and address issues such as the loss of mobile sets.
Therefore, all businessmen and merchants importing mobile phone sets from foreign countries to Afghanistan are hereby informed to refrain from importing mobile phones without obtaining a license from the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (ATRA). In case of any illegal activities, they will face legal action.
