Salaam GSM/3G and Fiber Optic Network services inaugurate in Paktika Province

Minister of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) H. E. Amirzai Sangin leading a delegation visited Paktika province on Thursday13 February 2014.
In this visit Minister Sangin inaugurated Fiber Optic project and Salam Network service in Paktika province.
H. E Sangin and his companion delegation faced warm welcome by the officials and people of Paktika province. At the beginning the governor of Paktika Mr. Muhibullah Samim praised telecommunication and IT progress made at the national level and called Minister Sangin for more attention to Paktika province. He said: this is the place of honor the two Telecommunication projects are inaugurated in Paktika provice, which will without doubt cause positive changes in the life of people.

Then Minister Sangin appreciated warm welcome of the people and said: this visit has a special significance for me.  Fiber Optic and Salaam Network services are vital for people of Paktika province.

We have developed telecommunications and IT in Paktika, but it is not enough. Fortunately, now we see changes and improvement in governance, the role of foreigners gradually are decreased and domestic Afghan staffs take their place, this is an important matter Afghans must struggle and fulfill their contributions for rebuilding prosperity.

Referring to the last ten year’s achievements of MCIT the Minister said: our efforts are continued in this direction.  Also he talked about the importance of internet and Salaam network and said: now 40% of the populations have access to the internet services and Salaam network, which was inaugurated by President H. E. Hamid Karzai last week, started its services in seven provinces included Paktika.

During the meeting, parliament member from Paktika Mrs. Najee Babeker Khil, head of provincial council and elders of Paktika talked about the MCIT’S achievements in turn.

Besides the deputy (Admin & Finance) Minister Mr. Wahabbudin Sadaat inaugurated Salaam network services in Nangarhar and Laghman Provinces.

Also deputy (Technical) Minster Mr. Baryalay Hassam inaugurated Salaam network services in Jawzjan, Mazare Sharif and Baghlan provinces.

It is mentionable that Salaam Network provides GSM and 3G service under Afghan Telecom a government telecommunication company.
