Agreement of Fiber Optic project Signs for Central & Northeastern Provinces

H. E. Eng. Baryalay Hassam deputy Technical minister of Telecommunication and IT signed the agreement of Central and Northeastern provinces Fiber Optic project during a press conference, which was held in conference Room of MCIT on Sunday 2th November 2012. The conference was participated by the leadership of MCIT, directors of (ZTE ،GHI، RHCC) companies and media representatives.

Mentioning the importance of Fiber Optic connectivity Mr. Hassam said: the aim of this project is development of telecommunication and IT service, creation and expanding infrastructures to every corner of the country. He added that the MCIT has begun a development program especially extension of Fiber Optic Network, first and second phases of the project has completed which includes 16 and 4 provinces respectively.   

Eng. Said: following the previous program, this time we sign the Fiber Optic project contract of central provinces (Bamian, Daikundi, Takhar, Ghor Badakhshan) and 13 districts of these province under three packages.

  1. Package-A(Estimated Budget=5.026’Million USD): Supply, Installation, & Commissioning of SDH Systems, DGs, ACs, Vehicles, and other Goods for Expanding Optical Fiber Cable based backbone connectivity to connect Central and North-Eastern Provincial Capitals and Districts of Afghanistan.

 

 For this Package, MCIT received many Bids and the Lowest Qualified Bidder (ZTE-China) has been awarded the contract.

 

  1. Package-B(Estimated Budget=13.722’971 Million USD): Supply, Installation, & Commissioning of Optical Cables, Ducts and other OSP Items/Field Services to connect Bamiyan, Daikundi, Ghor and 10 Districts on the Central Route of the Country. 

Ten Districts to be connected on this Route are:

---Shinwari---; ---Siyagard---; ---Shekh Ali---; ---Shibar---; ---Yakawlang---;        ---Panjab---; ---LalWaSarjangal---; ---Dawlatyar---; ---Waras---; ---Shehristan---.

 

For this Package, MCIT received many Bids and the Lowest Qualified Bidder (Gulf Homebase International Construction Company (called GHICC) of Afghanistan, in Joint Venture with Aster Private Ltd. of Hyderabad-India has been awarded the contract.

 

  1. Package-C (Estimated Budget=4.605’633 Million USD): Supply, Installation, & Commissioning of Optical Cables, Ducts and other OSP Items/Field Services to connect Takhar, Badakshan and 03 Districts on the North Eastern Route of the Country.

Three Districts to be connected on this Route are:

---Khanabad---;---Kalafgan---;---Kishm---.

 

For this Package, MCIT received many Bids and the Lowest Qualified Bidder (Rustam Haidari Construction Company (called RHCC) of Afghanistan has been awarded the contract.
