The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology released its annual report on the achievements and activities.

During a press conference, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) has shared its one year's achievements and activities with citizens and the mass media, and appreciated a number of merit employees of the Ministry.

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has consumed 92% of its development budget for the first time, and has been able to collect 8.7 billion AFN in 2018 the ministry, which is 38% higher than last year.

Shahzad Aryobee Minister of Communications and Information Technology, during the conference said that the ministry has taken important steps in the areas of development of e-government, which includes electronic National Identity Cards, online passport system, and simplification Public service processes.

Shahzad Aryobee added that at the same time, the Asan Khedmat Office has simplified numerous public services and new service centers will be created in the New Year.

He expressed that currently thousands of teachers are paid through mobile phones, and there is considerable transparency in this regard.

The Minister of Communications and Information Technology added that Afghanistan's fiber-optic network is in developing, In the past year, Afghanistan's connectivity has been developed and consolidated across the region.

He stated that the MCIT plans to transform the Afghanistan into an important connecting point between the regional countries, which will trigger improving the quality of Internet services, reducing the prices and will increase national revenues.                      

Minister Aryobee also noted that the security of information and Internet is now safe in the country, and technical teams are working together to make important steps in this direction.

At present, the Afghan Post Offices are being modernized, Central Post office is equipped with international standards.

In the end of the program, Shahzad Arybee, Mr. Ajmal Ayan chairman of the Afghan Telecom Company and the leadership of the MCIT appreciated and praised the merit staffs of the ministry.
