Minister of Communications and Information Technology: We work for the empowerment and presence of women in the information technology sector

Minister of Communications and Information Technology Masooma Khavari participated and spoke at the "Opening Ceremony of the Counseling Center for Women and Children of Afghanistan" established by the Ministry of Women's Affairs.

While speaking about the importance and role of information and communication technology to facilitate individual and social life minister Khavari called the establishment of this free telephone counseling center (6767) to register and address the views and problems of women and children in the country as an important achievement.

Masooma Khavari also spoke about the actions and programs of the Ministry of Communications in the field of gender equality and increasing the presence of women in the telecommunications and information technology sector.

Referring to the development and influence of information and telecommunication technology in the country, she called the level of women's access to technology less than men, which she said that insecurity is one of the reasons for this issue.

Minister Khavari expressed that: holding such seminars to raise awareness about cyber security, attracting and recruiting 40 female computer science graduates for a 9-month internship, and efforts to improve citizens' literacy and digital skills are important programs of the MCIT.

Minister of Women's Affairs Hseena Safi, while talking about the establishment of this center, appreciated the presence of the Minister of Communications and Information Technology in this program.
