MCIT signs Memorandum of understanding with Ministry of Public Health

Minister of Communications and IT (MCIT) H.E Abdurazaq Vahidi and minister of Public Health Mr. Ferozuldin Feroz signed Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation titled “Tele Medicine” during a press conference held on Tuesday August 18, 2015 at MCIT’s conference hall.

Speaking about importance and value of IT services and E-government minister Vahidi said: MCIT always tries to deliver better and quality information technology and electronic services, we have already connected some Universities and educational institutions of the country to each other and to the Higher Educational Centers of the world, and now we have the honor to provide telemedicine, which is the use of telecommunication and information technologies in order to provide health care at a distance services; and our aim is to  improve access to medical services that would often not be consistently available in distant rural communities of the country; and connect hospitals and clinical service institutions with domestic and International health Service Centers.

He added that: today technological innovations in the healthcare industry continue to provide physicians and doctors with new ways to improve the quality of care delivered to the patients and improve the state of healthcare.

He mentioned: that with this the doctors of the country will be able directly has the connection with mentioned Health services for sharing health problems and ideas.

Then the minister Ferozuldin Feroz appreciated endeavors of MCIT and said: ministry of Public health is responsible for delivering quality and better health services in all parts of the country, information technology would make significant contributions to our aim; and With the increased use of information technology in medicine physicians and patients will both see the benefits that the new medical and information technologies are bringing.

It is notable that total investment of the project is 2.5 million dollars and will be funded by MCIT’s Telecommunication Development Fund for 5 years.
