MCIT-Preparatory Commission holds First Meeting on 1st International ICT conference
Amirzai Sangin Minister of Communication and Information Technology chaired the first meeting of preparatory commission for holding first International ICT conference, with the participation of representatives of different ministries and Governmental organizations which took place on Sunday 3/2/1392 at MCIT.
At First Eng. Amirzai Sangin spoke on the goals of the conference and added: it is set the 1st International ICT Conference will be held on July 7-9 2013 in Kabul city. The conference will be participated by Ministers of Communication and Information Technology of more than 20 countries of the world and region, foreign ambassadors based in Kabul, University professors, Telecom and Internet companies, Policymakers and Investors of Information and Technology firms, national and International suppliers and supporters of technology services.
Minister Sangin highlighted the objectives of the conference as following:
- To reinforce regional cooperation among different stakeholders for accelerating ICT integration for economic growth; and enhancing the role of Afghanistan in spanning regional connectivity.
- To share knowledge and best practices for ICT and service delivery among countries from the region.
- To provide enabling environments by innovative policies and frameworks for realization the potential of ICT for socioeconomic development and achieving Millennium Goals in the region.
- To display the potential and achievement of Afghanistan in ICT sector development.
Latter they discussed on how to conduct the ICT International conference; and decision was made that each ministry based on their job responsibilities should take necessary proceedings.
