Participation in Plenipotentiary Conference of the Heads of the World Telecommunication Union Dubai 2018

In the composition of a high-ranking government delegation headed by Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, the Chief Executive of the country, while Mr. Najib Azizi, Head of the Afghanistan Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (ATRA), accompanies us, participated the Plenipotentiary Conference of the Heads of the World Telecommunication Union Dubai 2018.
At the conference, in addition to General Secretary, Deputy and Members of the ITU leadership, telecommunication sector representatives from more than 160 countries participated. The purpose of the Conference of the Heads is to determine a road map for communication and information technology for the years of 2020-2023.
The main goals of the conference is to select the leadership, members of the board of directors, members of the World Telecommunication Union Board of Directors, determine the vision and mission for the development of Internet and telecommunication services, decision on holding the annual meetings of union members, develop the budget, taking necessary measures to enforce the regulations and decisions on laws of telecommunications and radio.
The conference started on 29th October and will last up to 16th November 16, 2018.
