Ministry of Communications and Information Technology observes the International Day of Persons with Disabilities
Ministry of Communications and Information Technology celebrated the International Day of people with disabilities during a gathering on Sunday, December 9, 2019.
The deputy (Finance and Admin) minister of MCIT Dr. Hadi Hedayati, a number of officials and employees with disabilities participated the event.
Dr. Hedayati, praised the work of the People with disabilities, saying that the long war in
Afghanistan has left many disabled that our humanitarian sense does not allow us to distinguish between the disabled and healthy people.
Dr. Hedayati, noting that there are 500 million people with disabilities in the world and this day is celebrated by the United Nations and other countries on December 3 every year and aims to promote the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities in all spheres of society.
He stated that "The programs are not just a celebration of this day, we are working to solve the problems of disabled colleagues in the ministry,”.
In the meeting, which was attended by 13 staff members of the ministry, Abdul Basir, an employee with disability of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology's Audit Office, representing other disabled people in the ministry, thanked the ministry for the celebration the day and said, "We need more assistance and cooperation from ministry of Communications and information technology.
