The Minister of Communications and Information Technology participates in the Co-WIN Global Conclave, a virtual event
Minister of Communications and Information Technology Masooma Khavari attended at the Co-WIN Global Conclave, a virtual event organized by the National Health Authority of India and the Ministry of External Affairs on Tuesday, July 5, 2021.
The purpose of the event is to share the story of Co-WIN, the path breaking platform that helped India launch and implement the world’s largest vaccination drive.
The Co-WIN platform is a cutting edge digital technology that providing a scalable, inclusive and open platform for universal vaccination. And multiple countries have shown interest in adapting the platform.
The meeting began with the speech by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was participated by sectoral ministers and senior health officials including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, and some other countries.
The participants shared their views and recommendations on global management and mobilization against the disease.
It was set that this platform would be available to other countries as well.
The meeting stressed global mobilization in the joint combat against this disease.
The assistance of 500,000 doses of vaccine provided by the Indian government to Afghanistan was also appreciated.
