First International ICT Conference & Exhibition in Kabul

 1st  International ICT Conference and exhibition held for two days from 24 – 26th September 2013 in Kabul City at Afghanistan Civil Service Institute Conference.

The conference was attended by second vice president of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan H. E. Karim Khalili; and also the conference convened together the members of cabinet, members of Afghan Parliament, foreign ambassadors resident in Kabul, representatives of Ministries of Communications & IT from six Asian countries, Civil Society, telecommunication and IT service provider companies heads and professors from government and Private Universities and officials of Ministry of Telecommunications and IT ( MCIT).

At the beginning minister of MCIT H. E. Amirzai Sangin welcomed the participants and said: this is my pleasure to welcome the participants attended the First International ICT Conference and Exhibition in Afghanistan. H. E. Amirzai Sangin highlighted the aims and objectives of the Conference. Minister Sangin spoke in details about the achievements and development of Afghanistan, particularly in the field of Telecommunications and IT.

After that, vice president H. E. Karim Khalili appreciating strives of leadership of MCIT towards tremendous development of IT and its role on other sectors in Afghanistan and said:  it is place of joy and happiness to witness the holding First International ICT Conference in our beautiful Afghanistan. H. E. Khalili said:  the development of all things closely relates to Information Technology; and IT plays great role on exchanging ideas, social, economic and political growth of the community. The recent achievements of Afghanistan are unprecedented through the efforts of MCIT he said.

 

Latter  Minister of Finance H.E. Hazrat Umar Zakhilwal mentioned remarkable advances of IT and Telecommunications and considered the important role of IT on other economic, social and political areas significant.

Later the IT experts, foreign guests and representatives of private companies delivered presentations about the impact of IT on various dimensions of the human life.

At second day of the event Deputy Admin and Finance minister Wahabudin Sadaat spoke around the extending of Telecommunications, IT and Internet service in Afghanistan.

Simultaneously the first International ICT conference Telecommunications exhibition was also opened by H. E Karim Khalili. All government and private telecommunication service providers participated the exhibition and exposed their products and services to people and foreign guests.

Telecommunication and IT suppliers and companies evaluated the fair as an important event in the country, which helps booming and juice up marketing. 

 Through lunching this exhibition Ministry of Telecommunication and IT provided appropriate ground to display our services publicly, said Jamaludin Faizi head of marketing department of Afghan Com to our reporter.

Representative of ARTS Company Mr. Hasan Safdari said to our correspondent: that this exhibition paid positive effect to show our services, and he added: from one hand the fair convened together all telecommunication companies to share their experiences and from the other side people were informed of our services.

It worth saying that besides ICT exhibition, cultural works exhibition was held, in which the people showed their handicraft products.  

Finally at the end deputy Minister Technical of MCIT Eng. Baryalay Hassam paid concluding remarks about the importance of this conference.
