Fahim Hashimi: to fight corruption we are ready to digitize other offices

Mohammad Fahim Hashimi acting Minister of Communications and Information Technology attended at a joint meeting with Attorney General Office, the Special Secretariat for Combating Corruption on combating administrative corruption held at the Information Technology Institute on Tuesday, December 3, 2019.

At this meeting minister Hashimi expressed that digital transformation is a fundamental solution to the fight against corruption, and that the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology is poised to work with all government agencies in this regard.

"One of the useful ways to deal with corruption is to digitize offices, in which the Ministry of Communications is ready to cooperate with relevant agencies," he said.

He mentioned that "We have effective programs in place for e-governance that will certainly help eliminate corruption,”

Minister Hashimi said that the distribution of electronic ID Cards and smart driving licenses is one of the ministry's successes in simplifying administrative processes and preventing corruption.

"We already have studied programs in place to fight corruption and identify vulnerable spots in the coming years.

Minister of MCIT further mentioned that one of the ministry's key achievements in fighting corruption, is the activation of the Real Time system, and telecommunications companies would soon join the process.

Also, the Anti-Corruption Deputy of Attorney General Office Mr. Khawaja Abdul Haq Ahmadi, while appreciating the useful activities of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in fighting against corruption, emphasized that this ominous phenomenon destroys the trust between the people and the government.

He said that "We hope that the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology will digitize other offices of Prosecutor's Office as well,”

"Digitization is one of the most effective ways to fight corruption," said Mr. Yama Torabi, head of the Anti-Corruption Office’s Secretariat.

To combat corruption, Mr. Torabi called for the collaboration of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to digitize the agency and other departments.

Also, Mr. Fazl Sultan Safi, head of the Anti-Corruption Justice and Judicial Center, praised the digitalization program against corruption.

Mr. Safi praised the efforts of Mohammad Fahim Hashimi, to effectively streamline the office digitalization system to reduce corruption.
