Minister Amirzai Sangin Participates BAKU- IGF -2012 Meeting

The Internet Governance Forum (IGF) conference was held titled “Internet Governance for Sustainable Human, Economics and Social Development” under the UN auspice in Baku the capital of Azerbaijan on 6-9 November 2012.
Over 1500 delegates from 100 countries- representing governments, the private sectors, civil societies, the internet community, international organizations and the media convened in Baku.
Delegates looked at examples of global Internet governance issues that have particular relevance to development, and how internet can be integrated into development approaches, at the national and international levels. At BAKU IGF 2012 Meetings, participants discussed exchange information and share good practices with each other.

The IGF facilitated a common understanding of how to maximize Internet opportunities and address risks and challenges that arise.
During his  speech to the conference H.E. Amirzai Sangin Minister of telecommunication and Information Technology said; “despite numerous difficulties and challenges we have been able with transparent policy making and good governance to gain significant achievements in all aspects especially in telecom and Information Technology, and we changed Afghanistan from a country with no infrastructure in a country where over 80% of its population use and enjoy advanced telecommunication facilities and Internet services”.


In his itinerary Mr. Sangin met H. E. Elmar Mammadyarov Minister of Forreign Affairs and Dr. Alli Abbasove Minister of Communications & Information Technology of Azerbaijan, and exchanged views about mutual interests.
And also H. E. Sangin visited the exhibition, which was launched by different countries.
