MCIT- Announces Reduction in Internet prices

 Ministry of Communication & IT (MCIT) announced new price of Internet in a press conference held on Tuesday 8th January 2013.

Mentioning importance of information technology and internet H.E. Minister of MCIT Amirzai Sangin said; we are proud that we get another step towards Information society and e- government by enlarging communication services.

We expect all the population of Afghanistan to have access to Internet in every corner of the country and it needs some essential tips.

  • Having Fiber Optic, which we plan to connect remote areas of the country in one and halve year.
  • Fiber Optic technology and 3G service that we launch.
  • Reasonable prices that due to endeavors of the ministry from two years has become reduced.

Also he said: MCIT has plan to bring 80% of the population under coverage of 3G services in next 5 years.

Mr. Sangin stressed: MCIT had been bought one Mb on 4 – 5 dollars via satellite and currently it reduced 97.5% by using Fiber Optic System. He added: leadership of the MCIT has subscribed following outline for the internet prices:
