Information Technology in Education
Minister of Communication and Information Technology (MCIT) H. E. Amirzai Sangin and Minister of Education H. E. Ghulam Farooq Wardak signed the "Memorandum of Understanding Cooperation on ICT in Education Projects between Ministry of Communication & IT and Ministry of Education titled “the role of Information Technology on Education” in a press conference, Which was held in MCIT’s conference room on Tuesday 30th January 2013.
Welcoming the participants H. E. Eng. Amirzai Sangin said; MCIT is proud beside telecommunication and IT development and Achievements, takes another valuable and significant step to amplify its IT services to schools of the country.
He said that five vocational schools will be given these services first and fifty schools will benefit in next phase.
“According the agreement MCIT will provide schools and high schools with internet facilities, advanced computer equipment, which enable the teachers and students to meet their duties properly. Eng. Sangin said”
Then Minister of Education Dr. Ghulam Farooq Wardak expressing his satisfaction of providing IT facilities to the school of the Country said; we are proud to equip the schools of the country with new and modern technology.
Dr. Wardak added we plan to provide IT service to all our school in 10 years, which will help teaching programs.
Dr. Farooq Wardak mentioned; according this memorandum of understanding the Mechanical Institute of Kabul, Vocational Teacher Training Institute, Female Commercial High School, Afghan Technological Institute and Sayed JamludDin Afghan Teacher Training will enjoy the service first. It worth saying that the cost of this project is 2 million dollar and ATRA will fund it from Development fund (TDF) of MCIT.
