H.E Amirzai Sangin Minister of Communications & IT Visits Republic of Estonia
H.E Minister Sangin during his the two day visit from Republic of Estonia met with the President of Estonia His Excellency Thomas Henrek Ilious, Prime Minister of Estonia H.E Eesti Vabariigi , Mr. Juhan Parts Minister of Communications ,Transport and Economic Affairs, Ambassador Vaino Reinart, Estonian Information Systems Authority, Estonian Association of Information Technology and Telecommunications and e-Governance Academy Foundation.
The president of Estonia assuring on continuation of his country’s cooperation with Afghanistan and since Estonia has rich experience in governance and with the usage of information technology IT, Estonia wants to share its experience with Afghanistan and cooperate in this respect and other spheres.
Afterward, H.E Minister Sangin thanked Estonian president for his invitation to visit that country and stressed that Afghanistan wants expansion and continuation of cooperation ties in different spheres with Estonia and added that the development of the Information & Communication Technology (ICT) area has been rapid in Afghanistan. In the late 90s, almost no modern IT facilities existed. Today the most of the country is covered with cell phone access. Progressively fiber net is invested into, and broadband speed will be available.
H.E Minister Sangin also met Prime Minister of Estonia H.E Eesti Vabariigi and shared ideas and experiences regarding the ICT in Afghanistan and Estonia
“Since Estonia is fully experienced in e-government and with the usage of information technology, Estonia wants to share its experience with Afghanistan and assist in this and other spheres”, Said Prime Minister.
H.E Minister Sangin added, a mutual cooperation between I.R of Afghanistan and Republic of Estonia will help us to build up an e-state in Afghanistan since Estonia has been a pioneer in the development of e-governance technologies and may also be a pioneer when it comes to giving meaning to the digital society.
It is worth to mention that H.E Minister Sangin hosted to a welcome lunch by Ambassador Vaino Reinart and officially received an Invitation letter. Ambassador Reinart said we welcome Afghan e-governance leaders and representatives from ministries to a week-long course in Tallinn to more precisely pinpoint Afghanistan’s interests and map out opportunities for future co-operation.
Last but not least Minister Sangin visited from e-Governance Academy of Estonia and the Head of the Academy said we are contributing further to deciphering the digitized society and analyzing its problems and opportunities – this process are led by the e-Governance Academy, which, being a center, would develop new ideas about the changes that are taking place in society during the digital era.
