Afghanistan to change the Analogue TV System to Digital

H. E. Amirzai Sanging Minister of Communication and Information Technology (MCIT) participated the meeting along with H. E. Abdul Khaliq Farahi deputy Minister of Information and Culture,DG of ATRA Abdul Wakil Shirgul , TV channel representatives, which was held on Tuesday third February 2013 in MCIT Conference hall.

At beginning H. E. Sangin briefly mentioned the achievement of the country in telecommunication sector and said: Afghanistan is the only country, which has made great progress in short period. Further he said the aim of this meeting is to share ideas and discuss about changing Analog TV System to Digital TV System.

He highlighted that the changing analog to digital system has great importance and critical social- economic, Technological and broadcasting impacts, with this, the population of remotes areas will have opportunity to watch television programs and enjoy it.

Later deputy Minister of Information and Culture Mr. Abdulkhaliq Farahi praising efforts of MCIT and its consequences in Telecommunication services said: that changing the existing analog to Digital system is another positive step of MCIT. Mr. Farahi pledged that Ministry of Information and Culture will cooperate MCIT in this regard.

  Then all participants of the meeting welcomed the decision of MCIT and discussed the subject.

To change analog system to digital Afghanistan selected modern and standard digital (DVB- T2) the process of Implementation of this project will begin in Kabul City first and will complete in five ears.
