Minister of Communications and Information Technology Shahzad Aryobee, attended the International Telecommunication Union's Conference (ITU WSIS) in Geneva, Switzerland, on behalf of the country's telecommunications sector from 20-23 March, 2018.

This meeting, which is held once a year discusses advanced topics in technology and telecommunications system.

 

Based on this meeting, board members (ministers) are required to create a high-level dialogue on the opportunities and challenges of ICT in order to meet its sustainable development goals, using the goals set by the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

The main goal is to highlight the role of information technology in societies and create a multifaceted field of cooperation.

In his turn, minister of Communications and Information Technology of Afghanistan Shahzad Aryobee also spoke about the importance of the Internet and its development and challenges in country and reminded the current status of ICT in Afghanistan and future plans.
