Modernization of Afghan Post Offices

The Afghan Post Administration of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and the capital region Independent Development Authority (CRIDA) signed an agreement for modernization of post offices at a press conference held in government media and information center on Saturday, December 30, 2017.

The conference was attended by the minister of Communications and Information Technology Shahzad Aryobe, leadership of both sides and representatives of mass media.

First Minister of MCIT Shahzad Aryobee briefed the history of postal services in Afghanistan and then expressed that there are over 463 post offices in Afghanistan and around 24 delivery services abroad. Minister Aryobee added that the ministry of Communications and Information Technology intends to equip and modernize post offices of Kabul firstly and then the other provincial post offices throughout the country with national and international standards.

He said: equipping the post offices would create plenty of facilities in various fields such as banking services, passports distribution, transparency, preventing corruption, comfortable space for clients, library, café shops and internet lab.
