Minister of MCIT attends the OIC summit on Science and Technology

Acting minister of MCIT Mr. Shahzad Gul Aryobee attended the summit of the Islamic countries organization, which was held in Astana, capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan, on Saturday, September 9, 2017.
Highlighting the importance of science and technology in his speech in this summit Minister of MCIT reminded the achievements and historical role of the Muslims, and thanked the head of the Organization and the President of Kazakhstan for hosting this important meeting.

Mr. Aryobee said: "The science and technology is the lost legacy of the Muslims. In order to obtain, rehabilitate and redevelop it, the Islamic countries need to take shared steps ".

The minister added that: although Afghanistan is engaged in the fight against terrorism, we also have great achievements in the field of information technology, 80% of our people have access to telephones, and 90% of our country's territory is covered by telecommunications services, at the same time there has been significant drop in the rate of the Internet services. Also he renowned the importance of data security and urged Islamic countries for sincere collaboration.
